Dhenkanal, Aug 28: Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri along with Union Education and Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Minister Dharmendra Pradhan laid foundation stone of Common User Petroleum Facility at Sadashibpur in Dhenkanal district on Saturday.

Rameswar Teli, Minister of State Petroleum & Natural Gas & Labour & Employment, Govt. of India , Shri Mahesh Sahoo, MP Dhenkanal and Smt. Seemarani Nayak, MLA Hindol, Sri K Padmakar CMD, BPCL, Sri Arun Kumar Singh Director (Marketing), BPCL, Sri P S Ravi ED (Retail), BPCL, Sri L R Jain ED(E&P), BPCL and Sri Subhajit Ghosh SLC cum CGM & State Head, IOCL were also present on the occasion.

Pradhan said he was very glad as he laid foundation stone of the Common User Petroleum Facility of the BPCL at a place with which he has eternal links. Many of teachers and friends hail from the area, he said.

“The project, to come up under the Prime Minister’s Purvodaya mission, will play a vital role in industry sector of Dhenkanal. It will meet the demand for petroleum products in Dhenkanal, Deogarh, Keonjhar and western Odisha,” tweeted Pradhan. 

The project will help reduce the additional cost being borne on transportation of petroleum products from the Paradip Port and will create jobs of 2 lakh man days.

A state-of-art automatic storage depot with 42 kilo litre capacity will come up 50 acres of land. Petrol, diesel, ethanol and biodiesel will be stocked in the depot. The project to co0me at a cast of Rs 395 crore will be used by the three oil marketing companies-IOCL, BPCL and HPCL. Petroleum products will be supplied by linking Paradip-Ranchi-Raypur pipeline.  Plans are also afoot to supply petroleum products through railways.
