Solar Rath Drives Rooftop Solar Awareness Across Gajapati

Gajapati/Paralakhemundi/Odisha, Sep 30 : Taking the message of clean and renewable energy closer to communities, TPSODL flagged off its Solar Rath from the District Collectorate Office, Gajapati, Paralakhemundi during the Seva Setu Abhiyan. The Solar Rath was jointly flagged off by Sri Akshay Sunil Agrawal, IAS, Collector & District Magistrate, Gajapati, and Mr. Amit Kumar Garg, CEO, TPSODL, to strengthen awareness and encourage wider adoption of rooftop solar under the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana (PMSGMBY).
The Solar Rath is set to cover all seven blocks of Gajapati district — Paralakhemundi, Kasinagar, Gumma, Mohana, Nuagada, R. Udaygiri and Rayagada — taking information on rooftop solar directly to communities. Through this outreach initiative, consumers are being informed about the benefits of rooftop solar, available financial assistance, the installation process and the potential of solar energy to help households reduce their electricity expenditure while contributing to a cleaner and greener future.
Mr. Amit Kumar Garg, CEO, TPSODL, said, “The Solar Rath is taking the message of rooftop solar directly to consumers and communities across Gajapati. Through this initiative, we aim to simplify information around the PM Surya Ghar scheme, address consumer queries and encourage more households to explore the benefits of rooftop solar. Our aim is to make clean energy more accessible and help consumers become active participants in Odisha’s renewable energy journey.”
The Solar Rath serves as a mobile awareness platform, providing information on PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana, rooftop solar installation, financial assistance and consumer benefits. It also facilitates direct interaction with consumers, enabling them to understand the scheme, installation process and related requirements.

The inauguration ceremony was graced by senior officials from the TPSODL and Gajapati district.
