District Congress Committee Unveils Comprehensive 9-Point Election Agenda in Press Conference

Malkangiri ,23 March,2024:- District Congress Committee unveiled a comprehensive 9-point election agenda in Malkangiri, aiming to address various socio-economic issues and garner support ahead of the Nabarangpur MP election on April 13. Led by District Congress Committee President Gobind Patra, the press conference outlined key promises to prioritize the welfare of the people, challenging the incumbent BJD regime’s 24-year tenure and the shortcomings of both central and state governments over nine years.
The agenda guarantees significant reforms, including a bonus MSP of Rs. 3,000 per quintal for Paddy, agricultural loan waivers, and a monthly pension of Rs. 2,000 for farmers. Additionally, promises include a waiver of electricity fees for 200 units per household and employment opportunities for 5 Lac youths
Other notable pledges entail an unemployment allowance of Rs. 3,000 per month, bank loan waivers for all women self-help groups, and monthly allowances under the Gruhalakhmi Yojana. The agenda also promises subsidized cylinders at Rs. 500 per family per month, Rs. 25 lakh health insurance for all, and Rs. 2,000 monthly support for the physically handicapped, elderly, widows, and divorcees.
Furthermore, the Congress vows to implement a 27 percent reservation system for backward classes in education and employment sectors following an intra-caste social and economic survey in the state.
The press conference witnessed the presence of prominent figures including Mala Madhi, G. Srinivas Rao, Bhima Barse, Sharat Chandra Buruda, Mangu Khilla, Parshuram Bhakta, Pranakrishna Mandal, Padma Pangi, and Ishak Khosla, among others, showcasing solidarity towards the outlined agenda.
