District-Level Legal Literacy Festival Promotes Awareness and Participation

Malkangiri,27 August,2023:-Malkangiri’s Sankruti Bhawan buzzed with activity as the District-Level Legal Literacy Festival unfolded today, aiming to raise awareness about legal rights and empower the local community. The festival was presided over by District Judge Smt. Ajanta Sadangi, who also serves as the District-Level Legal Literacy Chairman. Dignitaries like Sri Bedabara Pradhan, ADM, graced the occasion as the guest of honor.
The festival brought together legal luminaries including Chief Judicial Magistrate Satyapriya Das, Senior Judges Bijaya Kumar Das and Bobita Das, Sub Divisional Judicial Magistrate Rudra Prakash Nayak, and Gramya Nyaya Adhikari Debendranath Bagh, and District Bar Association President Lombadhar Turuk, along with Secretary Nrusingha Mohanty.
The event’s highlight was the active involvement of 28 school students who showcased their talents through various competitions such as skits, dramas, drawings, essays, and debates. The debates eloquently tackled pertinent issues like child marriage, domestic violence, dowry laws, and laws concerning senior citizens. These discussions demonstrated a commendable level of understanding among the younger generation about the legal challenges that persist in society.
Chief Defense Council Advocate Ashok Kumar Patnaik commenced the festival with a welcoming address, setting the tone for the enriching discourse that followed. As the festival reached its culmination, deserving students who emerged victorious in the competitions were lauded with prizes and certificates. This recognition serves not only as a reward for their efforts but also as encouragement to persist in their pursuit of legal awareness and activism.
