Odisha’s KIIT Deemed University announces job, free education for family members of train accident victims

BHUBANESWAR, JUNE 7: Showing a great gesture of humanity and compassion, Odisha’s KIIT Deemed University on Wednesday announced to provide employment to one of the family members of the 39 persons of the state who died in the June 2 Bahanaga train crash.
The varsity also announced free education for the children of the deceased.
Announcing this varsity’s ‘compassionate’ initiatives for family members of the state’s train accident victims, KIIT Deemed University founder and Rajya Sabha member Dr Achyuta Samanta said, “We can’t reduce the sorrow of the family members of those who died in the train accident, but we will try our level best to support them. We will try to support the victims’ families by offering a job to one member from each family at KIIT and KISS as per their eligibility, and provide free education to their kids at KIIT Deemed University and its sister organization KISS as per their eligibility from standard one up to higher level. We will inform them how to apply for the job as well as free education.”
During Covid-19 well, KIIT had come forward to support hundreds of students who had lost their parents in the pandemic, giving free education, jobs to the family members of the Covid diseased, and helped common people through various means. Continuing with this humanitarian gesture, KIIT has come forward to help and support the victims of the train accident.
The Odisha train accident in Bahanaga, Balasore district on June 2 was the deadliest train crash in India in decades, claiming 288 lives, 39 of whom are from Odisha.
