NALCO organises beach cleanliness drive at Puri

Bhubaneswar, Oct. 11: National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO), a Navratna Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE) under the Ministry of Mines, organised a beach cleanliness drive at Puri on Sunday as part of the ongoing Swachhata Hi Seva 2026 campaign to raise awareness about marine litter, its environmental impact and the need to protect marine ecosystems.
The drive was led by NALCO Director (Production) Pankaj Kumar Sharma, Director (HR) Dr. Tapas Kumar Pattanayak and Director (Finance) Abhay Kumar Behuria. Senior officials, employees, representatives of the NALCO Foundation, associates and students of Biswambar Bidyapitha actively participated in the initiative.
As part of the campaign, a sand art sculpture was created near the Lighthouse on Puri beach to spread the message of environmental sustainability and cleanliness among tourists and the general public.
The initiative underscored the importance of collective action in reducing marine pollution and maintaining the cleanliness of coastal areas.
