UTTAR PRADESH,FEB 22: Popular Bhojpuri singer Neha Singh Rathore has been served a police notice over her song ‘UP Me Ka Ba- Season 2’, which she had shared on Twitter and Facebook. It has been alleged that the song, which is on the deaths during an eviction drive in Kanpur Dehat, tries to incite hatred among the public and Neha Singh Rathore has been asked to respond to the notice in three days.

The singer is a known critic of the Uttar Pradesh government and had called out the Yogi Adityanath-led government ahead of last year’s Assembly polls. But who is Neha Singh Rathore?

Neha Singh Rathore originally hails from Bihar and rose to fame during the UP Assembly elections in 2022 for her song ‘UP Me Ka Ba’. The song went viral.

In the earlier song, Neha Singh Rathore criticised the BJP government in Uttar Pradesh over issues like handling of the pandemic, Lakhimpur Kheri violence and the Hathras rape case.

Neha Singh Rathore’s ‘UP Me Ka Ba’ was in response to Ravi Kishan’s song ‘UP Mei Sab Ba’, which had gone viral too. In the song, the Ravi Kishan had praised the BJP government in Uttar Pradesh.

Neha Singh Rathore’s song ‘UP Me Ka Ba’ came just hours after Ravi Kishan had released his song. It triggered a poll song war last year during the UP election season.

Neha Singh Rathore was born in 1997 in Bihar, according to media reports. She graduated from Kanpur University.

Neha Singh Rathore started her music career in 2018. Before her ‘UP Me Ka Ba’ became popular, she sang songs in Bhojpuri on Covid awareness. The songs of Bhojpuri singer Neha Rathore are mostly on social issues.

The Bhojpuri singer tied the knot with Himanshu Singh on June 21 last year in Lucknow. Himanhu hails from UP’s Ambedkar Nagar.
