Malkangiri, June 8, 2024 — The 6th Governing Body meeting of the Government Polytechnic Malkangiri was convened in the office chamber of the District Magistrate-cum-Collector. The meeting, presided over by the Hon’ble District Collector Mr. Sachin Pawar, IAS, brought together key district officials and institute representatives to discuss pivotal issues concerning the polytechnic’s development and student welfare.

Among the notable attendees were Sri Nihar Ranjan Behera, Superintending Engineer of the PWD department; Sri Manswee Sethi, District Employment Officer; the representative of the District Education Officer; Dr. Ranjan Swain, District Red-Cross Secretary; Sri Suresh Sumani, President of the Chamber of Commerce; and the Principal of the Institute, Sri Jnanaranjan Das. Faculty members including Sri Prithiranjan Priyadarshi Patro, Sri Saurav Ranjan Pradhan, Sri Partha Sarathi Mallik, Sri Abkash Pradhani, and Sri J. Binod Kumar were also prominently present.

Key topics discussed during the meeting included strategies to boost enrollment for the upcoming academic session, the approval for the procurement of Light Motor Vehicles (LMV) for the institute, and the provision of Public Distribution System (PDS) rice for SC & ST students. These discussions are part of the broader effort to enhance the institute’s infrastructure and support mechanisms for students.

A significant highlight of the meeting was the district collector’s commitment to refund 50% of the total cost to students participating in campus recruitment drives, aiming to encourage more students to engage in employment opportunities facilitated by the institute.

The meeting concluded with thanks to the chair, reflecting a shared commitment to the continuous improvement and support of Government Polytechnic Malkangiri’s educational and infrastructural framework.
