19 Maoists, including 4 women, surrender before Central Reserve Police DIG in Chhattisgarh-Malkangiri border

Malkangiri Odisha 3 April: In a significant development, 19 Maoists, including four women, surrendered before the Central Reserve Police Force DIG Kamallochan Kasyap of Dantewada Range and SP Anjeneya Bharsani at the Malkangiri border in Chattishgarh. The Maoists laid down their arms and expressed their willingness to join the mainstream.
As per reports, the Maoists were involved in various violent activities in the area. They decided to surrender after realizing that the government was committed to the development of the region and had initiated several welfare schemes.
The authorities welcomed the Maoists and assured them of all possible help in their rehabilitation. As a gesture of goodwill, each surrendered Maoist was given a cash reward of Rs. 10,000.
The surrender of these Maoists is being seen as a major success for the security forces as it will help in bringing peace and stability to the region. It also demonstrates the government’s commitment to addressing the grievances of the people and creating an environment of trust and development.
