Malkangiri 30 June,2023 : In a press conference organized by the Bharatiya Janata Party at Malkangiri Circuit House, former Union Minister and Chairman of the Parliamentary Defense Committee, Shri. Juel Oram, provided insights into the history and development of Odisha. During his two-day visit to Malkangiri district, Mr. Oram highlighted the steps taken by the Central Government for the heritage and development of Odisha.

Mr. Oram emphasized the significant roles held by Odia individuals in national positions, including Draupadi Murmu as the President of the country, three Union Ministers, and numerous administrative positions in the central government. He also mentioned that 44 Odia people have been awarded the prestigious Padma Award. Furthermore, Mr. Oram highlighted the investments made in the development of historical monuments in Odisha, such as Jagannath Dham, Konark Sun Temple, and Kirtiraji.

Regarding agricultural development, Mr. Oram mentioned the substantial investments made through the PAM Kisan Samman Yojana, amounting to 7801 crores for the benefit of 33 lakh farmers in Odisha. He highlighted the increase in the prices of paddy, groundnuts , and mugdali, providing economic benefits to farmers. Additionally, he highlighted the implementation of the Pradhanmantri crop insurance plan, health cards for farmers, and the construction of thousands of kilometers of roads under the Pradhanmantri Sadak Yojana.

Mr. Oram also emphasized the government’s efforts in providing housing for the poor, with over 18 lakh people receiving free houses under the Prime Minister Housing Scheme, and approvals for an additional 9 lakh 59 thousand houses. He mentioned the provision of free cooking gas and electricity connections to millions of families, as well as tap water supply to 53 lakh families in Odisha through the Water Life Mission.

During the press conference, Mr. Oram also addressed concerns regarding the delay in the construction of 451 km of road, for which the state government had allocated 9 thousand crore rupees.
