‘Indian Mujahideen, East India Company’: PM’s jibe at INDIA Opposition alliance

NEW DELHI,JULY 25: Prime Minister Narendra Modi tore into the Opposition parties on the fourth day of the Parliament monsoon session as he spoke on the ruckus in Parliament and the term ‘INDIA’. As many as 26 Opposition parties formed an alliance ahead of the general elections next year and termed it ‘I.N.D.I.A’ or the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance.

The prime minister, at a key BJP Parliamentary party meet, said that merely using the word ‘India’ would not work as the “East India Company had also used India and India was also in the name of Indian Mujahideen”.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended BJP Parliamentary party meet this morning. Attacking the Opposition parties over the ruckus in Parliament due to the Manipur issue, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that he had never seen such a “directionless opposition”.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in the meeting that the Opposition is “scattered and desperate”. The Prime Minister also said that the attitude of the Opposition seems to be such that they do not have the desire to remain in power for a long time.

CONGRESS PRESIDENT HITS BACK AT PM MODI

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge hit out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the Rajya Sabha on the fourth day of the monsoon session of the Parliament.

He said, “We are asking for a debate on Manipur but PM Modi is talking about East India Company.”

Bharatiya Janata Party MP Ravi Shankar Prasad on Tuesday attacked the Opposition’s INDIA alliance and said that “people are nowadays using names like Indian Mujahideen and Indian People’s Front”.

Attacking the INDIA grouping, Prasad quoted prime minister Narendra Modi’s jibe and said, “PM Modi has given a statement that Indian National Congress, East India Company was founded by a foreign national. Today, people are using names like Indian Mujahideen and Indian People’s Front.”

Meanwhile, INDIA parties have decided to discuss a proposal to move no-confidence motion against government in Lok Sabha.

RUCKUS IN PARLIAMENT OVER MANIPUR ISSUE

The fourth day of the monsoon session of Parliament commenced today amid outrage over a viral video of two women who were paraded naked by a mob in Manipur. The session saw disruptions and fierce protests by the opposition parties on the Manipur issue as they demanded a statement from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and a discussion on the violence in Manipur.

Women’s panel team in Manipur amid inaction concerns, to meet sexual assault survivors

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Sanjay Singh was suspended by the Rajya Sabha Chairman for the current session of the Parliament for “unruly behaviour”.

The Opposition held an overnight sit-in protest in Parliament over the AAP MP’s suspension as well as Manipur issue.
