Woman police inspector attacked with blade by theft accused

Bhubaneswar, Oct. 29: A woman police inspector in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district was injured after she was attacked with a blade by a theft accused.
Although the attack took place on October 26, it came to light after a video of the incident surfaced on Friday.
However, the reason behind the attack on the lady cop was not ascertained till this report was filed.
According to reports, the donation money of a temple was stolen in the Bisoi area a few days ago. Following a complaint from the priest of the temple, the local police arrested accused Sushant Deo on October 26.
When inspector Mini Bhoi was alone at the police station, the accused who was carrying a blade with him attacked her all of a sudden. In the video, the woman cop was seen trying to resist the attack.
She sustained multiple injuries to her neck, hand and other parts of her body in the attack.
Soon after the attack, the accused was detained. Several cases of theft are pending against him. A fresh case was registered against the accused in connection with the attack.
