Puri, April 11: : Around 200 students of Government Girls’ High School participated in a health and hygiene awareness programme organised by Eastern Green Foundation (EGF) on Thursday.

The programme focused on creating awareness among adolescent girls about personal hygiene, menstrual health, and the importance of maintaining both physical and emotional well-being during their growing years. The initiative also aimed to encourage young students to speak openly about health-related concerns and adopt healthy practices in their daily lives.

Dr. Neha Panda (MBBS, Medical Officer) addressed the students and conducted an interactive session, explaining key health aspects in a simple and relatable manner. She also responded to queries raised by the students, making the session informative and engaging.

The programme was held in the presence of Dr. Neha Panda, Headmistress Mrs. Sangeeta Nayak, and the teachers of Government Girls’ High School, along with EGF Directors Dr. Mousumi Panda, Mrs. Mamta Mishra and Mr. Ashutosh Korkora.

The students showed keen interest throughout the session and actively participated in the discussion. The school authorities appreciated the initiative and emphasized the need for such programmes to be conducted regularly for the benefit of young students.

Eastern Green Foundation informed that it plans to continue similar awareness programmes in other government schools across the district in the coming days.
