Dr Ratnakar Dalei Takes Charge as Additional Chief Engineer of Eastern Circle

Jajpur/Odisha, Oct 28 : Dr Ratnakar Dalei has assumed charge as the Additional Chief Engineer of the Eastern Circle at Chandikhol, bringing with him considerable experience in irrigation management, flood control and embankment restoration.
The Eastern Circle oversees five divisions — Ali Embankment Division, Kendrapara Irrigation Division, Jaraka Irrigation Division, Jajpur Irrigation Division and Akhuapada Division.
Dr Dalei has earned appreciation for his hands-on involvement in flood-management operations and the restoration of vulnerable embankments. During previous flood situations, he actively supervised field-level operations and coordinated repair work to safeguard affected communities.
His direct involvement in the restoration of the Kani river embankment, where he reportedly entered the water and worked alongside labourers, drew particular appreciation from local residents.
His field-oriented approach and willingness to work under challenging conditions reflected his commitment to public safety and timely execution of essential repair work.
With his new assignment, expectations are high that his experience and practical approach will strengthen irrigation infrastructure, improve embankment maintenance and enhance flood preparedness across the Eastern Circle.
Residents hope that proactive engineering supervision, timely repairs and better coordination among the five divisions under his jurisdiction will further improve irrigation management and flood protection in the region.
