Bhubaneswar boils at 41.2 degree Celsius

Bhubanswar, April 23: Odisha capital Bhubaneswar on Saturday emerged as the hottest place in the state with the day temperature soaring to 41.2 degree Celsius till 2 pm.
Sambalpur recorded the second highest temperature of 40.2 degree followed by Chandbali (40 degree), Jharsuguda (39.5 degree), Hirakud (38.8 degree), Keonjhar (38.6 degree), Balasore (37.4 degree), Puri (32.4 degree), Paradip (32.2 degree) and Gopalpur (29.8 degree).
The roads of the capital city looked deserted after 10 o’clock after the temperature began to soar at an increasing speed.
As per the midday weather bulletin of IMD Bhubaneswar regional centre, the sky in Bhubaneswar which remains mainly clear during the day will become partly cloudy towards afternoon/evening.
The weather agency said the maximum temperature (Day Temperature) is very likely to gradually rise by 3 to 5 degree Celsius at many places over the districts of Interior Odisha during the next three days.
“Due to Northwesterly-Westerly dry air and high solar insolation, maximum temperature (day temperature) is very likely to gradually rise by 3 to 5°C at many places over the districts of Interior Odisha during next 3 days and no large change thereafter over the districts of Odisha,” Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar said in a release.”
“Consequently maximum temperature (day temperature) likely to be more than 40°C at many places over the districts of Odisha and likely to be above normal by 2 to 4°C during next 2 days over the districts of Odisha and likely to be above normal by 3 to 5°C over the districts of Interior Odisha in subsequent 3 days,” it added.
