Malkangiri: June 6,2023 : The Bharatiya Janata Party unit in Malkangiri, led by District President Sri Nimai Chandra Pal, has recently submitted a memorandum to the Collector of Malkangiri, outlining a three-point charter of demands. The memorandum seeks compensation for the victims of a tragic incident, addresses concerns regarding illegal transportation of white stone, and highlights the issue of long-delayed drinking water projects in Kalimela block.

The first demand of the BJP party pertains to the compensation for the families of the deceased individuals who lost their lives due to the collapse of an airstrip wall during a Norwester storm. The tragic incident shocked the local community, and the BJP is calling for the government to provide a compensation package of 25 lakhs to the affected families. The party believes that such assistance would provide some solace to the grieving families and help them rebuild their lives.

The second demand concerns the illegal transportation of white stone in Kunanpalli and Katanpallil areas of Bhubanpalli and Tandbai Gram Panchayats. The BJP alleges that certain government officials may be involved in this illicit activity, which not only violates the law but also has detrimental effects on the environment and public safety. The party demands a thorough investigation into the matter and strict action against those responsible, including any government officials found to be complicit.

In the third demand, the BJP highlights the long-standing issue of drinking water projects in the Kalimela block. Despite the construction of ten such projects over the years, the local population is still deprived of access to clean and reliable drinking water. The party claims that a significant amount of public funds has been allocated for repairs and maintenance, yet the projects remain non-functional. The BJP demands an inquiry into the delays and inefficiencies, and urges the government to take immediate action to ensure the completion and functionality of these projects for the benefit of the local residents.

Sri Nimai Chandra Pal, the District President of BJP Malkangiri, expressed his concern over the issues outlined in the memorandum. He emphasized the party’s commitment to serving the people and holding the authorities accountable for their actions.
