BOUDH: AMINISRATION REACHES OUT TO DISTRESSED MINAKETAN’S HOUSE, PLEDGES SUPPORT

Boudh, Aug.30: A ray of hope kindled for Minaketan Mahakud, a 40-year-old man hailing from Ratanpur village under Bamanda gram panchayat in Odisha’s Boudh district, who is suffering from suffering from some unidentified disease.
Harbhanga Block Development Officer Nilakantha Behera reached Minaketan’s house on Sunday evening and assured him support for treatment.
“The Odisha government will take all possible care for Minaketan. We will provide him financial assistance for treatment,” the BDO Mr Behera said.
The BDO visited the Minaketan’s Behera after Indus Valley Times flashed the news of his distress.
Minaketan’s wife Gitanjali and three children are now literally facing tough challenge for survival. They are even unable to arrange two square meals a day.
Gitanjali had appealed Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik for his help.
A daily-wage earner, Mahakuda has been out of job for two years now after being down with ailment. His family has sold everything for his treatment. He has visited VSS Medical College and Hospital at Burla, SCB Medical College and Hospital Cuttack and private doctors but his disease still remain uncured.
“My husband is battling for life. We have lost everything and do not have anything left for his treatment. How can we survive now? I appeal chief minister Naveen Patnaik to bail out from this distress. He has never disappointed the poor and I hope, he will listen my prayer through media. I appeal CM to help me and save my children,” Gitanjali had said in her appeal on Saturday.
Sources said that CM’s Office has taken note of Minaketan’s plight and asked the local administration to provie them all possible assistances.
Gitanjali thanked CM Naveen Patnaik and BDO Nilakantha Behera for their prompt support.
