Maiden edition of Corporate Cricket League kicks off; 8 teams vie for title

BHUBANESWAR, APR 7: The inaugural edition of the Corporate Cricket League (CCL) got underway at the Scan Sporting Ground of the Unit-II Government Girls’ High School, here on Friday.
Organised by Gemini Consulting & Services, the maiden edition of the CCL was inaugurated by Gemini IT Director Siddharth Samal.
Eight teams are participating in the three-day tournament which is co-sponsored by Aditya Birla Group company Hindalco, KSN Tours & Travels, Workmates Solution Pvt. Ltd, Quantumware Technical Services Pvt. Ltd., Pashupati Feeds, and Jeevan Seva Foundation
The prime objective of organising the CCL is to offer the corporate employees a break from their busy and hectic professional life and engage them in this cricket tournament to keep them physically fit, says Dr Bibhudatta Mahapatra, Vice President Corporate Communications & CSR of Aditya Birla Group.
Veteran sports persons and journalists Sameer Barik, Sambit Mohapatra, Jitendra Sahu, Ram Makshija, Rashmiranjan Roy, Debashish Patnaik and members of Scan Club are coordinating this first-of-its-kind cricket tournament.
