Massive Drug Haul in Kalimela: 100 KG Ganja Seized from Milk Van

Malkangiri Odisha 29 April: In a major crackdown on illegal drug trafficking, the excise department has seized 100 KG of ganja from a milk van during vehicle checking at MV-66 under Kalimela PS. The milk van, bearing the number of Maharashtra, was intercepted by the department, and upon inspection, the officers found the huge stash of ganja hidden inside the vehicle.
One person, identified as Ajay Rajaram, was arrested on the spot, and he has been forwarded to court for further legal proceedings. According to the officials, Ajay Rajaram was allegedly using his milk van to transport ganja from Malkangiri to Maharashtra and Hyderabad, under the guise of transporting milk and paneer.
The excise department has been on high alert in the area, and this seizure has been a major breakthrough in their efforts to crack down on illegal drug trafficking. The seized ganja is estimated to be worth ten lakhs of rupees in the market.
The officials have lauded the efforts of the team who conducted the vehicle checking and seized the ganja. They have also reiterated their commitment to ensuring that illegal drug trafficking is rooted out from the region.
