Security Exercise: Odisha DGP visits Maoist-hit Swabhiman Anchal in Malkangiri district

MALKANGIRI, DEC. 14: A day after neutralising two hardcore Maoists in Swabhiman Anchal, one of the hotbeds of rebels in Odisha’s Malkangiri district, state Director General of Police (DGP) Shri Abhay on Monday visited the Hantalaguda Border Security Force (BSF) camp in the region
The DGP discussed the blue print and development work in the Swabhiman Anchal and how the Maoist suppressed area can be safeguarded.
BSF, Special Operation Group (SOG) and Malkangiri district police officers were present in the meeting to safeguard the area repressed under the Maoists.
Ttwo hardcore Maoists were shot dead by the Special Operation Group and District Voluntary Force’s Jawan in the Singabaram forest in Swabhiman Anchal on Sunday.
The DGP praised jawans enthusiasm and courage.
According to the DGP, after the exchange of fire the security personnel recovered one Insaf rifle, one SLR, 20 rounds of ammunition, three Maoist kit bags and other incriminating documents from the site.
