Following the arrest, the ACB team took Mithali Sharma to Hazaribagh for further proceedings, while an investigation into the incident is underway.

Talking about the arrest, an ACB officer stated that Sharma had conducted a surprise inspection at the Koderma Vyapar Sahyog Samiti. She had found some discrepancies there during the inspection. She demanded a bribe of Rs 20,000 from the authorities there in lieu of not taking action against them, the official said.
