Jajpur, Dec. 5: Senior BJD leader and former Odisha finance minister Prafulla Chandra Ghadai’s 82nd birth anniversary was observed at Kaliapani in Jajpur district on Monday. Besides, the birthday celebrations were organised at many other places like Danagadi, Kalinganagar and Sukinda. On the occasion a book titled ‘Biswakarma’ was released by Mr Ghadai. The book chronicled articles by eminent persons on the contributions of Mr Ghadai to Sukinda, Jajpur and Odisha. Fruits and medicines were distributed to patients at various hospitals to mark the occasion. Poor people were given away winter clothes like blankets and sweaters. “Sukinda is very dear to my heart. I love the people of this area very much. I will work for these people all through my life,” said Mr Ghadai. “Prafulla Ghadai always stood with us. Today, we are happy that he came to us and distributed winter clothes to the poor and fruits to the patients,” Hari Mahant, a local tribal, said. Among others present on the occasion of the birthday celebration include Danagadi block chairperson Archana Das, Sukinda chairperson   Dibyaranjan Barala, Union Leader Narayan Chandra Dhir, Sukinda constituency Youth BJD President Pradip Kumar Mohanty, Youth leader Rudranarayan das, Chandan kumar kar,Sujit kumar rout, All Zillaparisada ,Sarapanch and Meny Eminent Person were Present.
