Rs 335 Crores mega drinking water project moving  at a snail ‘ pace

Jajpur, Dec 22:  Rs 335 crores    drinking water supply project, which aimed at providing   water in  77 Gram Panchayats under  Dharmasala and Barachana blocks in Jajpur district is moving at a snail’s pace.

The state government in 2019  had  started  the project work . But the work of the drinking water project is yet to be completed .

 Pratap Jena the then minister  Panchayati Raj & Drinking Water, Law, Housing & Urban Development stated in the state assembly on 29 March 2022 while giving reply to the question of Barachana MLA Amar Satapathy that the mega  drinking water project would be completed  within15  December 2022.

When contacted Kulamani Moharana the Assistant Executive Engineer of Rural Water Supply and Sanitation  (RWSS), Jajpur’ “In 2019  the government had  started the work of  this project  to strengthen drinking water supply in the perennially drinking water scarce villages.  The project would be completed in 2023’.
