Shocking: 3 tourists killed in Balasore road accident

Balasore, Dec. 9: At least three persons were on Sunday morning killed and 10 others sustained critical injuries after a tourist vehicle they were travelling in rammed into a stationary truck near Shergarh petrol pump in Odisha’s Balasore district.

According to reports, nearly 25 people from Balisahi area in Puri had booked a light commercial vehicle to visit several tourist places including Devkund in Mayurbhanj district.

The tourists had left Puri at around 12:30 AM towards their destination, however, their vehicle rammed into a truck near Shergarh petrol pump in the early hours.

Following the mishap all the injured were rescued and shifted to Balasore district headquarters hospital in 108 ambulance.

The conditions of three persons were stated to be critical.

“After police and fire officials rescued and shifted all the injured to the hospital, we faced much problems as hospital staff did not pay adequate attention towards the treatment of the injured,” said an attendant.

The police reached the spot and further investigation in connection with the road mishap is underway.
