Bhubaneswar, March 13: Utkal Hospital, a leading multi-speciality hospital in Odisha, celebrated World Kidney Day at its Niladri campus with a series of impactful awareness programmes and health services aimed at promoting kidney health and disease prevention. 

The event, held at the hospital auditorium, featured expert talks, Facebook Live sessions, and fruit distribution to patients, reinforcing the importance of early detection and lifestyle changes in maintaining kidney health. Renowned nephrologists, urologists, and healthcare professionals shared valuable insights on proper hydration, balanced nutrition, and regular screening as key measures to prevent kidney diseases. 

Highlighting the importance of the initiative, a senior nephrologist remarked, *”Kidney disease is a growing concern, and prevention is key. Through this initiative, we hope to create awareness and encourage people to take proactive steps towards better kidney health.”* 

The event’s key highlights included: 

Renal Function Test: Providing early detection of kidney issues. 

Expert Consultation: Educating participants on kidney care and disease management. 

Diet and Lifestyle Guidance: Personalized advice for maintaining healthy kidneys. 

Public Awareness Campaign: Informative sessions to help prevent kidney disease. 

Senior Specialist Urologist Dr. Kali Prasad Mishra, Dr. Pabitra Kumar Mishra, Senior Specialist Nephrologist Dr. Lalat Barun Patra, Dr. Smarak Ranjan Panda, and Dietician Dr. Sonali Tripathi were present to guide and support the participants. The programme was graced by Dr. Pragyan Ranjan Ghadei, Managing Director of Utkal Hospital, and Dr. Bibhuti Bhusan Nayak, Joint Director of the State Organ and Tissue Transplant Organization.
