Zilla Porishad meeting brings attention to district’s basic needs and solutions

MALKANGIRI ,ODISHA : The 70th Zilla Porishad meeting was held today at the Zilla Porishad Bhawan, Malkangiri under Zilla Porishad Chairman Smt.Somari Tangul. The meeting was attended by several important dignitaries including the MP Nabarangpur Sri.Ramesh Chandra Majhi ,MLA Chitrakonda Sri.Purna Chandra Baka, Collector Malkangiri Sri.Vishal Singh ,DFO Malkangiri Sri.Pratap Kotapalli ,Zilla Porishad Vice-Chirman Sri.Patitapaban Boidya and Member of Zilla Porishad.
During the meeting, various important issues and proposals relating to Drinking Water, Road Infrastucture ,Health and Education were discussed and debated. The Chairman, Somari Tangul, gave an update on the progress of various development projects in the district and took suggestions from the members present on how to further improve the same.
The MP and MLA also gave their inputs and suggestions on various matters of importance to the district. They also discussed ways to address the issues and challenges faced by the people of the district.
During the meeting, the MLA Sri.Baka suggested to organise the meeting in 3 months interval and discussed the importance of ensuring that farmers in the region have access to mandi benefits in order to improve their livelihoods. Additionally, the meeting focused on plans to take five local hospitals under the 5t project, in order to improve the healthcare facilities available to the community.
