Bhubaneswar,March 13: Continuing their stellar show in the three-tier Panchayat elections across Odisha, BJD candidates hogged the limelight again by winning the Zilla Parishad President elections in all the 30 districts of the State.

While, Naliniprabha Jena of the ruling party has been elected to head the district development council of Jajpur, Debaki Sahu of the ruling party will be the Zilla Parishad President in Bolangir. Similarly, Motiram Nayak has been elected for the post in Nabarangpur district.

Meanwhile, Narayan Pradhan and Koushik Kumar Pradhan of BJD have been elected for the top most post of the Panchayat Raj system in Balasore and Deogarh districts respectively. Similarly Dali Majhi and Debashis Patnaik have been elected as Zilla Parishad Presidents in Nuapada and Nayagarh districts.

Results In Other Districts: Babita Pradhan (Angul), Prabhasini Das (Boudh), Manini Bhoi (Bargarh), Prafulla Jena (Bhadrak), Archana Puhana (Dhenkanal), Tulabati Minj (Jharsuguda)

Puspendra Kumar Singhdeo (Kalahandi), Nandini Mallick (Kandhamal), Sasmita Meleka (Koraput), Gitanjali Sethy (Kendrapara), Rupashree Rani Gumansingh (Khordha), Samari Tanglu (Malkangiri), Swapnarani Swain (Puri), Saraswati Majhi (Rayagada), Kumudini Nayak (Sambalpur), Supara Thela (Subarnapur), Kunti Pradhan (Sundargarh), Reacting on winning the Zilla Parishad President post of Kendrapara district Gitanjali Sethy said, “I will try to serve the people of my area to the best of my ability and include all the beneficiaries in the government schemes with the help of MLAs in our district.”

“I will try to win the trust of my party leaders and provide basic amenities to the people of my area,” said Sasmita Meleka, Zilla Parishad President of Koraput.

Nomination for Zilla Parishad President elections kicked off at 10 am today. On the other hand, elections to Zilla Parishad Vice-President posts will be conducted on March 25.

Notably, the three-tier Panchayat elections were conducted in Odisha in five phases last month.
