Muribahal, Balangir: Two poultry farmers have been arrested by Muribahal police for allegedly cheating Premium Chick Feed Private Limited Company.

According to reports, on January 18,t he wife of poultry farmer Bhojaraj Mahakur from Kumbhari village informed the company that all the poultry birds had been destroyed in a fire. However,when company officials visited the farm, they found only 100-150 birds had died.

The farm had 2385 birds, and the gate was still locked, raising suspicions. The company’s Balangir branch manager, Lingaraj Mallick, filed a complaint with Muribahal police.

During investigation, it was revealed that Bhojaraj Mahakur and his associate Subal Rana had sold the birds to two traders, Singh Traders and Jaishwal Traders, in Kantabanji. The police recovered some money and two vehicles used for transporting the birds.

The company estimates the loss to be around Rs 8.5 lakh.The police have registered a case (No.16) under various sections of the BNS and have forwarded the accused to court.
